A total of 19 professionals participate in the XIV edition of the Ibero-American Course of Technology, Operations and Environmental Management in Ports-Press NOTE (05/19/2014)

The XIV edition of the Ibero -American Course of Technology, Operations and Environmental Management in Ports is being held these days, which this year has the participation of 19 professionals of varied technical profile from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama and Uruguay. The course is directed by Ignacio Arrondo Perals, director of services and competitiveness of state ports; Íñigo Losada Rodríguez, professor of the Department of Sciences and Techniques of the Environmental Water of the University of Cantabria; and Cristina López Arias, director of the port of Santander. With a duration of four weeks, it is aimed at facilitating the technical training and recycling of professionals in the Latin American port sector, and for this a program has been prepared to provide technical and specialized training in the areas of “port operations” and “Environmental Management In ports ”, introducing participants in the most advanced methodologies and procedures in these fields, with special reference to Spanish casuistry and experience. The training program is equipped with a total of 175 hours (7 ECTS credits), and will be taught by 60 port experts from both the academic field, as universities and research centers, as well as the public sector, specifically port authorities port authorities and state ports and private initiative, in this case operators, consultants, construction companies, etc. The closure will be on June 12, with the celebration of the VII Day of Innovation in the Port Cluster. The Ibero -American Course on Technology, Operations and Environmental Management in Ports constitutes an International Cooperation Initiative between State Ports, on behalf of the Spanish Port System and the Inter -American Ports Commission of the Organization of American States; It has the collaboration of the Port Authority of Santander, and is part of the Academic Programming of Cantabria International Campus of the UC and the UIMP.
