The Port Authority of Santander and Noatum Terminal de Granles Santander, S.A., have signed an agreement of good environmental practices, whereby Noatum has to maintain an environmental management system, and comply with the maintenance program of facilities and environmental monitoring; In addition to contracting obligations in terms of operational practices and in investment in improvement of environmental media. For its part, the APS will apply the 20 percent bonus of the activity fee corresponding to manipulated traffic of solid and liquid bulk. The signing of this agreement is an indispensable requirement for the company to be applied the bonus in the activity rate, as established by the State and Merchant Marine Ports Law. This law establishes a bonus in the activity rate to encourage best environmental practices of licenses holders for the provision of the port manipulation port service or the holders of concessions or authorizations of manipulation terminals. The requirement for this, in addition to the agreement with the PHC, is to be registered in the Registry of the Community Management and Audit System or have implanted a management system based on ISO-14001 certified by an entity accredited for this purpose and whose scope comprises all those services related to the activity subject to authorization.
