Automobile manufacturers give the port of Santander again as a service-Press Note (06/21/2013)

The Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers, ANFAC, has just made public the 6th edition of its report on 'The assessment of port maritime logistics' in which, again, the port of Santander obtains the best valuation, ahead of Tarragona and Valencia. As stated in this report “the port of Santander is the best valued of all Spanish ports that operate car traffic. In addition, it is the third port by number of vehicles (212,000 in 2012 among those associated with ANFAC), which represents almost 16% of the port traffic that is valued in this report ”. In the same document the main vehicle manufacturers indicate that "the port of Santander has retained its 2011 score, the highest obtained by a port in any edition of this logistics assessment study." The evaluation of the port of Santander is very positive in practically all the sections analyzed, especially the loading and discharge of the trains carried out by the terminal's own personnel, the agility to manage areas of merchandise deposit and the facilities in compliance with the fulfillment of the Customs formalities. The report also refers to the companies that operate in the port, of which it indicates, “show that continuous training, regular audits and permanent contact with the client allow to maintain good service in all aspects of the manipulation of the vehicles inside the port ”. It ends concluding that "the port of Santander is a clear example of commitment and involvement of an entire port community with the automobile sector."
