Mini Print International Cantabria delivers its awards at the Faro Cabo Mayor

Next Wednesday, August 21, at 19 hours at the Faro De Cabo Mayor Art Center (CAFCM), the official opening and award ceremony of the II International Mini Print Cantabria, "El Mar y los Faros" will take place. During the event, which will be chaired by the president of the Port Authority of Santander, Jaime González, the winners of this successful international exhibition of graphic work in small format will be announced.

The exhibition will be open to the public until October 20 at the usual CAFCM times, showing all the works selected by the jury of the contest, formed by Carlos Limorti, coordinator of the Advisory Committee on Cultural Activities of the Port Authority of Santander, Andrea Juan, artist, curator and director of SM Pro Art Circle, Eloy Velázquez , artist and doctor of Art History and Chema Elexpuru, artist, researcher and teacher at the University of the Basque Country.

The exhibition exhibits a total of 446 works from 196 artists from countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Spain, Finland, France, Holland, India, Israel, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, Poland, United Kingdom, Romania, Taiwan, Turkey or Uruguay. All the works are of a high aesthetic quality and, in them, the different techniques of the graph are represented.

In its second edition, Mini Print Internacional Cantabria has received a total of 217 entries from artists from 33 countries around the world, which means an increase of 90% compared to participation in the first edition. The participation of Spanish artists, including 8 artists from Cantabria, has also increased markedly.

The 217 registered artists have submitted their proposals to present 513 works to competition. Jury selection has reduced this number to the 446 works that were ultimately eligible for awards and are exhibited at the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse Art Center. The works admitted to the competition, digital represent more than double the works presented in 2018.

In addition, the number of artists who have expressed their desire to donate their works has increased markedly, so that more than 350 works will be incorporated into the collection of the Faro Cabo Mayor Art Center.
