Awards for the IV International Mini Print Cantabria "The Sea and the Lighthouses" have been announced.

The awards of the IV Mini Print International Cantabria "The Sea and the Lighthouses" have been announced. The contest, organized by the Port Authority of Santander (APS) and SM Pro Art, has beaten again this year its record of participation with 686 works registered. The works remain on display in their entirety at the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse Art Center. The president of the APS has highlighted "the success" of this call and "the excellent quality" of the works submitted to this IV edition of Mini Print. Santander 08/10/2021. Turner and Marek Grzyb (Poland) for Hazy light were the winners of the IV Mini Print Internacional Cantabria, "El Mar y los Faros", organized by the Port Authority of Santander and SM Pro Art. On this occasion, the Special Cantabrian Sea Prize, sponsored by El Diario Montañés and reserved for artists born and/or resident in Cantabria, went to Julia García López for her work Durmiente 6. Special mentions were also awarded to Anna Trojanowska (Poland), Juan Escudero (Spain), Maja Cwiek (Poland), Verónica Bonta (Argentina), Ariadna Abadal (Spain), Carlos Javier Vielba (Spain), Eunice Kim (United States) and María Centeno (Spain). In this edition, the jury was made up of the former general director of Culture of the Government of Cantabria, Eva Ranea and the artists and professors Susana López Fernández and Meredith Nemirov as guest personalities, as well as representatives of the Port Authority of Santander, SM Pro Art and El Diario Montañés respectively. The president of the APS, Francisco Martín, highlighted both "the success of participation" in the contest and "the quality of the works presented" and encouraged Cantabrian artists to participate in future editions. Martín also expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the winning works will become part of the heritage of the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse Art Center "increasing, with each new work, the artistic value of the collection". The IV Mini Print International Cantabria, "The Sea and the Lighthouses" has counted with the participation of 279 artists from 42 countries from all over the world who have presented 686 graphic works in small format. As last year, they are exhibited in their entirety at the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse Art Center, demonstrating once again the growth of the contest and its international projection. As usual in the contest, the vast majority of the participating artists have decided to donate their works to the Art Fund of the Port Authority of Santander, which, in this edition, will increase its funds by another 500 works. Thus, when the exhibition of the III Mini Print International Cantabria ends on December 31, the CAFCM will have approximately 1,500 small-format prints by important artists from all corners of the planet. Special Cantabrian Sea Prize: € 500.- (*) And 4 honorary prizes and 5 mentions (non-acquisition) (*) The purpose of this award is to support the practice of graphic arts among the artists of Cantabria. The jury, after awarding the three main prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd), will choose the winner of this Special Prize from among the artists who have not been awarded prizes and who are qualified to do so. The exhibition will be open to the public until December 31 in the Isla de Mouro room of the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse Art Center and can be visited from Tuesday to Thursday from 11:30 to 13:30 hours and from Friday to Sunday from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00 hours.
