The tower, overlooking what is mainly parkland, forms the basis for the facilities of the Cabo Mayor lighthouse. It is a cylindrical column of masonry, 91 metres above sea level and 30 above land, set on an octagonal tambour, once home of the lighthouse keepers and now renovated as a showroom.

Connected to the side of this building, at varying levels, is a group of smaller buildings which were built at different times as homes for the maritime signal technicians and the lighthouse services. Extensive work has been carried out on these buildings, connecting them and converting them into showrooms.
